1. last-minute
Today we are going to learn “last-minute”. It means happening or done as late as possible before something else happens.
eg:
(1). I’m afraid I need to cancel. Something’s come up last-minute.
(2). And today all the last-minute chaos has been given a whole new dimension because of the snow.

2. out of hand
Another phrase is “out of hand”. It means that something is out of control.
eg:
(1). Things got a little bit out of hand at Donnie’s place last night.
(2). Because it is a natural emotion you do not have to strive to get rid of it completely you only have to control it getting out of hand.
