1. try someone’s luck
Today we are going to learn “try someone’s luck”. It means to try to achieve something although you know you might not succeed.
eg:
(1). Iā€™m going to try my luck in Las Vegas.
(2). He’d always wanted to act and in 1959 came to London to try his luck on the stage.

2. live through
Another phrase is “live through”. It means to experience a difficult situation or event.
eg:
(1). I lived through a terrible war.
(2). He could never know the pain and fear this child had lived through.
