1. directive

Today we are going to learn “directive”. Directive is an official order or instruction.
(1) The European Council recently adopted a directive on control of the acquisition and possession of weapons.
(2) As president, he will learn that he sends out a directive and nothing happens.

2. commencement

Another word is “commencement”. It means a ceremony at which university, college, or high school students receive their diplomas.
(1) In fact, you could be sitting three years from now waiting before commencement and you can get that grade adjusted.
(2) Oprah Winfrey was the commencement speaker at the Smith college graduation.
