eg:

(2) Trump’s Justice Department has asked the Supreme Court to review the travel ban matter.

2. connect

Another word is “connect”. It means to realize or show that a fact, event, or person is related to something
eg:
(1) On Twitter, Donald Trump Jr. connected the shooting to the recent controversy over a version of the play “Julius Caesar” that features the assassination of a ruler who resembles Donald Trump.
(2) Michelle Carter, 20, is on trial on a charge of involuntary manslaughter that is connected with the death of her boyfriend Conrad Roy III.
