Today we are going to learn “hospitalize”. If someone is hospitalized, they are taken into a hospital for treatment.
eg:
(1) British Queen Elizabeth II’s 96-year-old husband, Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh, was hospitalized in London to receive treatment for an infection.
(2) House Majority Whip Steve Scalise continues to be hospitalized after the shooting on June 14th.

2. candidate

Another word is “candidate”. It means someone who is being considered for a job or is competing in an election.
eg:
(1)Tom Perriello shook hands with Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam at the start of the first debate of Virginia’s Democratic candidates for governor.
(2) India’s ruling party has announced its candidate for the presidential election.
